What is destination wedding travel etiquette?

Destination Wedding Travel Etiquette

Both travel and weddings can be stressful situations. Put the two things together and you have a recipe for disaster. However, attending a destination wedding doesn't have to be stressful if you keep in mind some basic rules of wedding travel etiquette.

1. Arrive early. Don't be that person running through the airport, trying to get to your plane before it departs. Get to the airport with ample time to check your luggage and navigate security. For flights out of the United States, that means at least two hours prior to flight time.

2. Get your documents in order. Make sure that you have all of your travel documents -- photo ID, passports, and tickets -- before you leave the house. You won't be allowed on the plane without them.

3. Limit your luggage. Yes, we all want to look our best, especially at a wedding, but pack sensibly. Extra luggage will often cost extra and will certainly slow down the process of getting you to and from the airport and the hotel.

4. Don't question the arrangements. This is the wedding couple's trip. As a guest, you are just there to help them celebrate. If the hotel they chose wouldn't have been your first choice, stay quiet about it.
