December 21, 2007, Newsletter Issue #71: Destination Weddings in the Cayman Islands

Tip of the Week

The Cayman Islands offer spectacular island atmosphere as well as convenience for your destination wedding. Getting married here no longer requires a 72-hour waiting period; instead, there are very few legal formalities. You must fill out the application with specifics such as the bride and groom's name and permanent address, temporary address (hotel in the Cayman Islands), and you also need certified copies of your birth certificate and ID, along with your official Cayman Islands international embarkation/disembarkation card.
Additionally, you'll need to meet with a Marriage Officer to finish the application – but no blood tests or other items are required. While on the Islands, you can choose to get married in such diverse locations as quaint chapels or the Queen Elizabeth II Botanical Park.
